"MARRY ME A LITTLE" THIS SUNDAY ONLY!

Limelight Theatre Company is thrilled to present a special concert event, taking place this Sunday, February 27th only: Stephen Sondheim's MARRY ME A LITTLE In Concert.

A charming and bittersweet musical revue that features songs by Stephen Sondheim, the undisputed master of the contemporary Broadway musical. Two urban and single strangers share a Saturday night of sweet fantasies and deep yearning while never leaving the confines of their solitary apartments, and never knowing that they’re just a floor away from each other and the end of their lonely dreams. Together, they breathe new theatrical life and meaning into a collection of trunk songs that were culled from the final productions of Sondheim's Anyone Can Whistle, Follies, Company, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and A Little Night Music.

The production stars Sarah Milnamow and Joshua Shea Coates, with music direction by T.C. Kincer, stage direction by Stephanie Scuderi, and stage management by Sydney Gershon. MARRY ME A LITTLE In Concert will be presented on February 27th at 3:00PM and 7:00PM at the Ossie Davis Theater within the New Rochelle Public Library lobby in New Rochelle, NY.

This concert production is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by ArtsWestchester.

SUPPORT OUR END OF YEAR CAMPAIGN!

The Limelight Theatre Company was launched this year to pave the way to more inclusive, accessible, affordable, and enlightening dramatic art in Westchester County, and is grateful for a successful first year. This past year, our nonprofit theatre company produced a virtual concert as its inaugural kick-off event called “Opening Up: A Virtual Concert and Tribute to Broadway” that streamed this past April and proudly provided work and performance opportunities to twelve professional artists of all diversities and backgrounds, and provided an enlightening theme of acceptance and optimism for what’s to come in this new age of a post-pandemic world as well as a new industry in light of the many social justice initiatives for significant and permanent change among the industry as well. This first virtual concert marked the very first performance for the Limelight Theatre Company and provided high quality arts entertainment for a large number of patrons and households among Westchester County, the greater New York area, and beyond, with its ability to stream performances to an expanded audience through virtual online ticket sales and streaming options.

This summer, the Limelight Theatre Company presented its first live mainstage production, SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD by Jason Robert Brown. This contemporary song cycle musical weaves characters and history together, illuminating the timelessness of self-discovery, as the Limelight Theatre Company emerged into not only a new post-pandemic world, but also a new arts industry that has ridden old ideals and embraces inclusivity and equity among our artists. This production featured a small, powerhouse multi-ethnic cast and provided professional opportunities for twenty local artists, technicians and musicians. The production director Richard F. Grasso was thrilled and eager to bring this new-generation story to life in a fully live production, making it one of the very first professional productions in Westchester county to make a full and safe return to live, in-person theatre since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

In addition to our ambitious first year of projects, the Limelight Theatre Company was graciously awarded a 2021-2022 Arts Alive Recovery NY Regrant award through ArtsWestchester, which will support upcoming projects in 2022.

With your help, the Limelight Theatre Company looks forward to upholding its mission and bringing inclusive, accessible and affordable performing arts to Westchester County in the new year. We thank you for your support in our first year and hope you will consider making a contribution to our End of Year Campaign. Wishing all of our supporters a happy and healthy new year!
