ANNOUNCING OUR YOUTH MAINSTAGE CAST!
Shrek, From Swamp to Stage
Musical Theatre International describes Shrek the Musical Jr. as a ‘“Big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance.” A musical that the Limelight Theatre Company youth summer mainstage cast is excited to perform!
Shrek the Musical Jr. will run July 21st at 7:00 PM and July 22nd at 2:00 PM at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center. Leading the talented youth cast are Zachary Simmons and Maeve Looby from Brewster, NY as Shrek and Princess Fiona. The full cast includes Rebecca Grill from Carmel, Rose Giardiello from Danbury, Evan Mallamud from Katonah, Isabella Wulczyn and Marissa Duran from Mahopac, Chloe Adams and Nicholas DeRobertis from New Fairfield, Jack Roche from North Salem, Christian Sciarrillo from Patterson, Coraline O’Brien and Josephine O’Brien from Purdys, Ellie Wanicur from Ridgefield, and Julianna Guida and Adrianna Rizzo from Somers.
The show follows the story of an ogre, Shrek, who lives in a swamp far from the mainland and enjoys his privacy. All of a sudden, his swamp is flooded with the banished fairytales who were cast out by Lord Farquaad, a little guy with big ambitions. Shrek goes off to confront Lord Farquaad and alongside him is a comedic donkey. Once the two come face to face with the tiny terror, Farquaad assigns them the task of rescuing Princess Fiona and in exchange, he will remove all of the fairytales from his swamp. The rest of the story is filled with romance and twists, it’s an overall fun family show that contains powerful messages.

The Limelight Theatre Company was launched in 2021 to pave the way to more inclusive, accessible and affordable performing arts in Westchester County, and is grateful for a successful second year. This past year, our nonprofit theatre company proudly provided work and performance opportunities to dozens of professional artists as well as training opportunities through brand new programming for the next generation of young artists!
In addition to our second year of projects and programming, the Limelight Theatre Company was graciously again awarded grant funding through ArtsWestchester, and we are extremely grateful for their support.

"MARRY ME A LITTLE" THIS SUNDAY ONLY!
Limelight Theatre Company is thrilled to present a special concert event, taking place this Sunday, February 27th only: Stephen Sondheim's MARRY ME A LITTLE In Concert.
A charming and bittersweet musical revue that features songs by Stephen Sondheim, the undisputed master of the contemporary Broadway musical. Two urban and single strangers share a Saturday night of sweet fantasies and deep yearning while never leaving the confines of their solitary apartments, and never knowing that they’re just a floor away from each other and the end of their lonely dreams. Together, they breathe new theatrical life and meaning into a collection of trunk songs that were culled from the final productions of Sondheim's Anyone Can Whistle, Follies, Company, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and A Little Night Music.
The production stars Sarah Milnamow and Joshua Shea Coates, with music direction by T.C. Kincer, stage direction by Stephanie Scuderi, and stage management by Sydney Gershon. MARRY ME A LITTLE In Concert will be presented on February 27th at 3:00PM and 7:00PM at the Ossie Davis Theater within the New Rochelle Public Library lobby in New Rochelle, NY.
This concert production is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by ArtsWestchester.

CAST ANNOUNCED FOR SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD
Limelight Theatre Company presents LIVE professional performances of SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center. The production will be presented on Friday, August 27th at 8PM, Saturday, August 28th at 3PM, and Sunday, August 29th at 3PM. Written by Jason Robert Brown, the production is directed by Westchester's own Richard F. Grasso, with music direction by Westchester's Stephen Ferri. With lighting design by Adam Lobelson, sound design by Jon Weston and John Millerd, and a spectacular live band with all-new orchestrations, this production's stellar team kicks off Limelight Theatre Company's first mainstage production in a re-opened New World. What better time than now to teach an audience what the New World used to be, what it currently is, and what it may be for our future selves.
Featuring incredible professional talent from both Westchester & NYC, Limelight Theatre Company announces its cast: Grant Evan (Man 1), Stephanie Scuderi (Woman 1), James Harris (Man 2), and Raquelle Viteri (Woman 2).

During the last weekend of August, Limelight Theatre Company presents live performances of SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center. The production will be presented on Friday, August 27th at 8PM, Saturday, August 28th at 3PM, and Sunday, August 29th at 3PM. Written by Jason Robert Brown, the production is directed by Richard F. Grasso, with music direction by Stephen Ferri.
About the show: It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice... or take a stand... or turn around and go back. These are the stories and characters of today, the Songs for a New World. The first musical from Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County), this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices that we make.
Brown transports his audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge, 57 stories above Fifth Avenue, to meet a startling array of characters that range from a young man who has determined that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams... and a soulless marriage.

In celebration of our launch as a theatre company and the industry beginning to slowly open after a long year in the dark, the Limelight Theatre Company presents OPENING UP: A Virtual Concert & Tribute to Broadway. Featuring professional artists from New York and beyond, our kickoff concert event streams on demand April 17 - 25.
The Limelight Theatre Company's mission is to provide inclusive, accessible and affordable dramatic arts to the greater New York area. All concert proceeds will directly benefit our professional artists and our 2021 season of productions and projects. Ticket prices for our virtual concert are available on a pay what you can sliding scale.
Featuring performances by Eli Gonzalez, Stevie LeWarne, Stephanie Scuderi, Bern Tan, Logan Hoy Tucker, Raquelle Viteri, Clyde Voce, Christine Wanda, Nyla Watson & Robert Zelaya, the concert includes many songs and stories that were abruptly silenced when all shut down last year. This concert marks the Limelight Theatre Company's first virtual event available to the public, and is directed by Stephanie Scuderi with music direction by Denis Michael Rudisch, and accompanied by concert pianist T.C. Kincer.

The Limelight Theatre Company was founded in response to the necessity for the continuation of the arts and uplifting the voices of our local artists and creators during a time of great challenge and change. The Limelight Theatre Company introduces its name with pride, as we emerge from a period of darkness with hopes to pave the way to more accessible, affordable, and enlightening dramatic art.
